Charles Lee Bates, 73, Basehor, KS, passed away Friday, May 25, 2007 at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, KS.

Services will be 1 pm Wednesday May 30, 2007 at the Basehor United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Basehor, KS.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday, May 29, at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, 4^th and Delaware, Tonganoxie.

Charles was born January, 28,1934 in Basehor, KS, the son of Edward and Opal (Stephenson) Bates.  He was a U.S. Army veteran who worked as a Building Contractor. He was a charter member of the Basehor Lions Club and a member of the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club.  Charles was united in marriage on December 7, 1957 in Yuma, AZ to Avis C. Sanders, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons; Randy and Steven Bates, both of Basehor, KS; two daughters; Sandy Coleman, Bonner Springs, KS, and Susan Harrison, Basehor, KS; and four grandchildren.
