Cleon A. Shore,79, Leavenworth, KS died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Cleon was born February 11, 1928 in Hillsboro, WI, the son of Amasa and Ivah (Kopenhafer) Shore. He retired in 1982 after working 30 years for General Motors in Kansas City, KS. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Leavenworth and a member of the UAW Local 31 of Kansas City, KS. He was united in marriage at Washington Avenue Methodist Church, Kansas City, KS to Martha Schaefer on October 15, 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Elda Shore, Alice Lodene Deane and Edith Butson.
Cleon enjoyed raising cattle, riding horses and taking long walks over his acreage. He was a cracker jack mechanic and never saw a piece of machinery or an automobile he couldn’t fix. He was something of an inventor and very creative.
Survivors include his wife Martha, of the home; two sons, Carl (Suzanne), Surprise, AZ; Clifford (Brenda), Edgerton, MO. One daughter, Carolyn (Brad) McCaffree, Haysville, KS. Three brothers Orval, Danville, AR, Charles (Irene), Burnett WI and Paul (Alice), Milton WI.
