Harold A. Putthoff, 83, Tonganoxie, KS died Saturday November 3, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, MO.
A funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Monday November 5, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Tonganoxie, KS. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS, where the Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.
Harold was born February 16, 1924 in Montrose, MO, the son of Edward and Josephine (Arens) Putthoff. He owned a service station and towing service in Bonner Springs, KS and retired as Water and Sewer Superintendent for the City of Tonganoxie. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had been a Boy Scout leader. He was a charter member of the Historical Society, V.F.W. #9271 and Knights of Columbus # 11352, all of Tonganoxie and belonged to the Fourth Degree Pope John Paul II #2461, Lawrence, KS. On June 23, 1956 he was united in marriage to Connie Dobson at Sacred Heart Church, Tonganoxie.
Survivors include his wife, Connie J. Putthoff, of the home; three sons, Stanley, Fulton, MO, Terry, Parkville, MO and Kerry, Tonganoxie; daughter, Cindy, Summerville, SC; brother, Jimmy, Lawrence, KS; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Good Shepherd Thrift Shop building fund or to the Sacred Heart Church building fund.
