Nellie Bretz, 88, Leavenworth, KS, died Monday October 8, 2007 at her home.

Funeral services will be Friday October 12, 2007 at 11 am at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS.  Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Nellie was born November 2, 1918 in Ackerland, Kansas, the daughter of James and Bessie (Hanley) Lee.  She was united in marriage to Otto Bretz June 5, 1943 in Leavenworth, KS.  She worked at Fort Leavenworth and was a telephone operator in Tonganoxie.  She was a member of the Boling Canning Club.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Bretz on March 26, 2001.

Survivors include 4 nephews, Bill Lee and wife, Jackie, Basehor, KS, Gary Lee and wife, Susie, Leavenworth, KS, Kenny Shoemaker and wife, Jonna, Tonganoxie, KS and David Shoemaker and wife, Georgette, Tonganoxie, KS; one niece, Betsy Lee and friend, Bill Wolfe, Fountain Hills, Arizona; one sister-in-law, Clara Lee, Leavenworth; 5 great nephews, 4 great nieces, 2 great-great nephews and 4 great-great nieces.
