Velma Lillian Bell, 90, Tonganoxie, KS, formerly of Lincoln and Beaver Crossing, NE, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, KS.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Lincoln, NE.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.

Velma was born December 17, 1917 in Seward, Nebraska, the daughter of Clarence and Pearl (Hickman) Parrish.  She was a homemaker and a hospital volunteer with over 8,000 hours of service.  She was married to Rex L. Bell, he preceded her in death September 26, 2002.

Survivors include her son, Leon Bell, Tonganoxie, KS; two daughters, Barbara Sherman, Plano, TX and Patricia Callander, Greenville, SC and two sisters, Ruth Swetnam and Margaret McDonald, both of Portland, OR; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
